Petrockstowe
The village of Petrockstowe is in North Devon, just a few minutes drive from the famous Dartmoor National Park. The village is situated between the market town of Hatherleigh and Great Torrington, a strategic place in the Civil War where today the Torrington Cavaliers produce record making bonfires. Like many Devon villages its roots are set firmly in farming with a history dating back to the Doomsday Book. Other local industries have include glove making, tanning and clay mining which continues today.
The village has a B & B, holiday accommodation and a pub ıThe Laurelsı which offers good food. It is within easy driving distance of the tourist attractions of Devon including the varying coastline of the county, most reachable in less than an hour by car. R.H.S. Rosemoor gardens are nearby and Exmoor is but a short drive.
The city of Exeter, close to the M5, with its international airport, shopping centre and cathedral is just 45 minutes away. Cornwall is 20 minute by car and offers its own blend of tourist attractions and places of interest. The proximity of the M5 makes Wales and the Midlands a day out
