Dunstable is a busy friendly town, William The Conqueror’s son Henry 1st gave the town it’s first charter, although has links to Neolithic, Roman and Medieval times. Positioned on the northernmost area of the Chiltern Hills, where you may see the colourful aerial antics of hang gliders, Para-gliders, even kite flying, whether walking or enjoying a picnic amongst the clover and rare butterflies, this is a lovely place to spend some time. Whipsnade Wild Animal Park, with stunning surroundings and wildlife is an insight into the majestic animal kingdom, or perhaps a visit to nearby Woburn Abbey & Deer Park with it’s coveted collection of paintings, furniture and antiques, the Safari Park is home to ‘Lions and Tigers and Bears oh my’ well perhaps not bears but there are elephants and monkeys. The Priory of St Peter, has played host to many historical events not least the divorce between King Henry V111 and Catherine Of Aragon. If shopping pleases then a choice between 5 principal shopping areas or outdoor Market will stretch any purse , or why not sit comfortably in the Grove Theatre with it’s musical and theatrical entertainment programme. Dunstable will fill every passing moment with pleasurable memories.
