Good Points: It is a very beautiful building in a lovely setting. On the surface it looks splendid. Bad Points: We were booked into a small cottage in the grounds with two tiny bedrooms with another couple who we did not know. This is clearly standard practice and a terrible idea. It would be fine with friends or family but it was much too intimate a space with strangers. It is a lot of money to pay to feel so awkward. We would never book in again in case we were put in the same accommodation. The room was very small and in urgent need of a facelift. The meal in the restaurant was expensive and poorly cooked. Big presentation, terrible substance which rather characterizes the entire establishment. General review: I think the hotel is too busy servicing functions to pay attention to the individual guest. We were not told about the dress code for the restaurant when we booked and it could have been embarrassing.
