I have just returned from a three day, two night stay at the Ivy House Country Hotel. What a wonderful find! Turning off from a main road nothing prepares you for the sight that greets you. Wonderful barns and farmhouses spread out over lawns and gardens. The rooms are decorated and dressed with taste and style and in complete keeping with the style of the building. Wonderful views from the bedroom window of gardens, ponds and fields beyond. The beds are extremely comfortable and the en-suite bathroom is spotlessly clean with thick towels and bath robes in ample supply.
The Crooked Barn restaurant is a delight to dine in. At breakfast you look out over the colourful gardens whilst eating freshly baked bread and local produce, sausages and bacon. At night time the Barn is lit with fairy lights and oil lamps and as at breakfast the food is local produce and meats, as for the taste - all I can say is that my twenty three year old daughter aaid that the dinner she had last night was the best meal of her life!
I would recommend the Ivy House Country Hotel to anyone who likes comfort, elegance and wonderful food.
