"This a lovely old building which has recently been decorated to a high standard. It is just the right size to make it homely, having 15 guest rooms. The restaurant has retained many original features in keeping with the general appearance of the building, but the bar area is rather club like although they have a good selection of whisky's and are generous with the measures. The hotel is more lake district than its location near Cockermouth suggests and has fantastic views to the west and south.Overall, very nice."
