14th of May - St Matthias's Day

14th of May is the 134th day of the year

St Matthias's Day:
The somewhat random choice of May 14th as the feast day for St Matthias – previously he was celebrated on February 24th, but the date was moved so avoid it falling within Lent – is rather fitting, given he was chosen to replace Judas as the 12th apostle by the drawing of lots. Little else is clear about him either before that moment or after: he was born it appears in Judea, but where he died (in around 80AD) is unsure: he may have been crucified in Georgia where he was preaching; stoned and beheaded in Jerusalem, or died of old age in the same city. Among the groups for which he is a patron saint are tailors and alcoholics.
