Population 158,922 (includes Kensington). Once a village but now very much part of the metropolitan sprawl Chelsea is now an extremely upmarket area of London personified by two Landmarks at its East and West borders - Sloane Square and Chelsea Football ground. If buying a house here you would be lucky to get change from one million pounds but staying here is a treat. Chelsea offers wonderful eating and drinking possibilities that stretch down the Fulham and Kings Roads and the latter is of course world famous for its clothes shops. There are beautiful and historic squares off the main drag and here you will also find some of the many museums, antique shops, clubs and bars. Plenty of buses serve the area and Knightsbridge, the River Thames, Fulham and South Kensington are all a short walk away
