Glenwhan Gardens has a most magnificent view over Luce Bay to the Mull of Galloway and out to the Isle of Man with seats and walkways to enjoy the Views. Visitors love the peace and ambience as well as the dendrologist enjoying the wealth of plants.

Glenwhan Gardens has recently been added to the Inventory of Historic Environment Scotland as an important and significant Garden created over the last 50 years out of a Wilderness.

Hard to believe that the garden (12 acres) was only begun in 1980, hewn from a hillside covered in bracken and gorse The effects of the Gulf Stream allow exotic plants to thrive . Large collections of interesting trees and shrubs from around the world including embothrium from Chili, eucalyptus, rhododendrons and hydrangeas flourish amongst this maze of hilly plantings. A peaceful haven with seats and winding paths for all to enjoy.
