Jonathan Ross

Why is Wossy our hero of the week? Not for his interviewing technique, encapsulated in the apocryphal “Nelson Mandela, what do you think of my suit?” Nor for his rather more measured performance as a film reviewer and Radio 2 presenter. Rather we applaud him for jumping before he was pushed; for choosing, unlike so many others, not to hang on like grim death to his BBC work – however lucrative; for looking to do something new as he nears the big 5-0. He has tried many roles throughout his career: an extra it’s said on It Ain’t Half Hot Mum; researcher; TV show developer; radio personality; game show panellist and (frequently) awards show host. We look forward to whatever new path he follows.
